Once, there lived a young girl, an only child. Everyday, her parents would work hard to build the family, thus she was left to the care of her grandmother and maid. The girl did not get to see her parents till very late into the night, so her only companions were her grandmother and the maid. Problems faced in studies and school were all solely confided to her grandmother. But from day one, her grandmother had only critisized her and her faults.
Being a round baby when she first came into the world, the first few years of her life, she recieved compliments on how cute she was. Relatives and people were always carrying and pinching her. But as she grew older, such comments no longer exist. Comments and words which were meaningless to the adults, but piercing and hurtful to her, took over. Maybe its just her who took them seriously, but as the days pass, scars from the simple phrases grew deeper and deeper.
Slowly, she grew to yearn for simple praises and compliments from those who held places of importance in her heart. She would almost resort to anything for them. But as days pass by, those words of praises seemed to inch further and further away. Soon, she gave up on recieving them from those close to her. She settled for the next best, from the people around her, be it teachers or friends or even strangers.
Until today, the wounds and scars from the past still lay within her, only to resurface once in a while, when comments made abt her hit the right spot.
